Self-Assessment Tool

The purpose of this self-assessment tool is to determine where you are on the Disciples Pathway and give you tools to move forward along the path to becoming a disciple maker (Matthew 28:19-20). Each section of questions corresponds to an area on the pathway. Honestly answer the questions to find the section that you most identify with currently. Share your information on the form at the bottom of this page to have a staff member connect you to your step. We invite you to move forward with us as we fulfill our vision of FCC as a disciple making community.

New at First

  1. This is my first time attending FCC.

  2. I have been attending FCC for some time but haven’t explored beyond Sunday services.

  3. I am familiar with FCC because I attend CR on Tuesdays or attended an outreach event.

  4. I interact with FCC on social media and/or watch recorded services, but I have not yet connected further.

  5. I am new to the Napa community and/or I’m looking for a place to learn more about faith in Jesus.

  6. I am new to faith or returning to faith and interested in being baptized.

NEXT STEP: Attend a New at First gathering

Discipleship Foundations

  1. I have completed a New at First Seminar and am ready for the next step.

  2. I have been around FCC for a while but want to learn more about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus.

  3. I want to learn more about slowed-down faith and how it impacts me personally.

  4. I want to learn more about how my upbringing may impact my current relationships with others.

  5. I want to learn how to better balance family, rest, work, and play in a biblical way.

NEXT STEP: Attend an upcoming Discipleship Foundation Seminar – “Loving God” or “Loving Others”

Community Life

  1. I am a regular participant in the FCC Community with other believers.

  2. I sense the unique ways God has gifted me individually and am ready to use my spiritual gifts for his service.

  3. My money, gifts, time, and abilities are at God’s disposal and not my own.

  4. I want to become a member of FCC.

  5. I am ready to connect more deeply with other people in the FCC community.

NEXT STEP: Take a membership class, and/or find a ministry that matches your gifts and desire to serve.

Leader Development

  1. I have rejected the world’s definition of success (e.g., bigger is better, be popular, attain earthly security) to become the person God has called me to become and to do what God has called me to do.

  2. I take a lot of time to carefully discern when my plans and ambitions are legitimately for the glory of God and when they cross the line into my own desire for greatness.

  3. Because I have grown in my spiritual maturity, I am rarely compelled to alter my actions to receive approval from other people or to get my way.

  4. Listening to Jesus and surrendering my will to his will is more important than any other project, program, or cause.

  5. I have completed the “Love God” and “Love Others” seminars and am working to implement the practices that I learned into my daily life.

NEXT STEP: Inquire about leadership roles in the FCC community that align with your spiritual gifts, particularly in ministries where you are already serving.

Disciple Making Community

  1. People would describe me as someone who makes “loving well” my number one aim.

  2. Others would say that I am slow to speak, quick to listen, and good at seeing things from their perspective.

  3. I consistently integrate my faith in the community and the world.

  4. I am regularly able to enter other people’s worlds and feelings, connecting deeply with them and taking time to imagine what it feels like to live in their shoes.

  5. I have explored previously unknown or unacceptable parts of myself, allowing Christ to transform me more fully. I want to help others experience this transformation.

NEXT STEPS: Make disciples and engage in discipleship of others along the path.
